Apricot has a special place in our hearts! The MTAF team discovered her when driving down a country road. She was a barn cat and heavily pregnant! We spoke to the farmer who happily agreed to have us bring her into our care. The night she was trapped we discovered she had given birth and our friends at Ottawa Kitten Rescue took those babies in as poor Apricot was far too sick to mother them.
After an emergency trip to the vet she was diagnosed with a severe upper respiratory infection as well as a badly ulcered and infected eye. It took several months and SO much TLC from her fosters but Apricot is thriving! Her eye is healed, however, she has such bad scars on the cornea that her vision is quite limited in that eye. It does not cause her any pain but occasionally weeps and gives her that cute winky expression we know and love!
Apricot has had a rough life! We want her golden years to be filled with pampering! Soft cozy beds, warm spots to lay and yummy meals! Apricot would do best in a home where someone is always home and a lap is always available! She loves to spend her time being gently pet! She is an easy gal and we know the perfect home is out there for her. If you’re reading this and looking for a kitty best friend- this is your girl!
